Self-Deployment and Self-Configuration of Network Centric Service

With the rapid increase in complexity of software systems and applications, it becomes necessary to consider alternative designs and management techniques that are based on strategies used by biological systems to deal with complexity, heterogeneity and uncertainty. The approach is referred to as autonomic computing. In this paper, we present policy engine based approach to achieve self-deployment and selfconfiguration in our Autonomia Environment. Through decomposition and expressing the deployment and configuration operations of network centric applications into policies, Autonomia makes the deployment and configuration automated. We describe an distributed application example of Linear Equation Solver on Globus environment and demonstrate that the application can be deployed autonomically and reconfigured on the fly without humane intervention by using policy-based SelfDeployment and Self-Configuration Services.
